He raced at two and trained on to win at group level on two occasions as well as several other stakes placings. Volitants biggest win came on Caulfield Cup Day in the shape of a dominant performance in the Group 3 Moonga Stakes over 1400m, beating the likes of former Champion Sprinter YELL and popular stallion FOREPLAY.

Breaking through to win the Group one Casino Municipal de Vina del Mar at the famous Valparaiso Sporting Club racetrack defeating the Champion mare Golden Rule over 1900m on turf. He also won the Group 3 Thompson over 1900m before gaining multiply placings at GR1 GR2 & GR3 level. Throughout his career he was always competing against the best Chile had to offer in 14 Group races of his 20 starts.

MODERN ERA standing in 2008 for the first time at EAGLE PARK STUD hailing from one of Australia>’s best families.

As a 3yo MODERN ERA had nine starts in which he earned him self eight prize cheques with four of them being wins as well as being stakes placed behind Keep the Faith and our Smoking Joe in the Scheppervescence Cup after an impressive win in the Chubb Trophy at Flemington. He had a 25 start career proving his soundness as a race horse and took home earnings totalling $154,791.

His sire Marscay was a Group winner himself and has had 722 progeny to race for 509 winners earning $53.1 million which included 68 stakes winners and 55 stakes place getters.

He is from Olympic Aim who had 4 wins and is a half sister to Bit Of A Skite (AJC All Aged S GR1 winner)and is closely related to Golden Slipper winner Poler Success. She is the dam of 8 foals all to race with 6 winners including MODERN ERA’S full sister CIRCLES OF GOLD who has been described as Australia’s Eight Carat being the dam of popular young stallion Elvstroem who’s winnings exceed $5 million and Haradasun who made international head lines winning the prestigious Queen Anne Stakes GR1 at Royal Ascot.
